Hello hello hello

Let’s have a tea party!

Greeting

Hi Friends! Welcome back to the Sing Along with Mandy Podcast. I’m Mandy, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I love to sing songs and play fun – and sometimes silly – games and I especially love to sing and play with you.

Quick housekeeping reminder – this summer, Valerie and I are recording new episodes on Wednesdays 10a Central on Instagram live. You can find it in my stories for 24 hours at @singalongpodcast. We’re also putting the video on our new YouTube channel – so find us there or on YouTube Kids!

If you or your adult would like to see the lyrics to the songs in this episode, I’ll leave a link in the show notes.  If you don’t know a song yet, don’t worry! Just listen and sing along when you can. Are you ready? Let’s sing!

Now, I like to drink my coffee in the quiet morning before the house wakes… but one lovely part of tea time is taking a break with friends. We like to do a thing I learned from Bravewriter called poetry teatime where we eat snacks and drink tea and share some of our favorite poems. You can do this with your family or you can have a make believe poetry teatime today with your favorite stuffed animals!

The more we get together

The more we get together

Together, together

The more we get together

The happier we’ll be

‘Cause your friends are my friends

And my friends are your friends

The more we get together

The happier we’ll be

Oh, the more we get together

Together, together

The more we get together

The happier we’ll be

I’m a little teapot – nowtakeoff.com/bath

I’m a little teapot

Short and stout.

Here is my handle,

Here is my spout.

When I get all steamed up

Hear me shout:

Tip me over

And pour me out!

I’m a very special pot

This is true.

Here’s an example

Of what I can do.

I can change my handle

And my spout.

Tip me over

And pour me out!

Who stole the cookies

Accuser:(name of a child in the circle) stole/took the cookie/cookies from the cookie jar.

Accused: Who, me?

Accuser/Group: Yes, you!

Accused: Couldn’t be!

Accuser/Group: Then who?

Little poll parrot

Little Poll Parrot

Sat in his garret

Eating toast and tea;

A little brown mouse

Jumped into the house,

And stole it all away

Molly, my sister and I fell out

Molly, my sister and I fell out,

And what do you think it was all about?

She loved coffee and I loved tea,

And that was the reason we couldn’t agree.

Cross Patch

Cross party, draw the latch,

   Sit be the fire and spin;

Take a cup and drink it up,

   Then call your neighbors in.

I like coffee, I like tea

I want ___ to come in with me

123 me mother caught a flea

One, two, three,

Me mother caught a flea,

She put it in the teapot

And made a cup of tea.

The flea jumped out,

Me mother gave a shout

And in came daddy

With his shirt hanging out.

Here’s a sweet song that you can sing to your stuffed friends at your tea party. We’ll use it to say goodbye to you today.

Make new friends

Make new friends, but keep the old.

One is silver, the other is gold.

A circle is round, it has no end.

That’s how long, I want to be your friend.
