Hello hello hello
Today… we’re going to pretend we’re going on a grand adventure into the mountains! I love to sing while I’m hiking, so I’ve put together some of my favorite songs to sing on the trail.
Greeting
Hi Friends! Welcome back to the Sing Along with Mandy Podcast. I’m Mandy, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I love to sing songs and play fun – and sometimes silly – games and I especially love to sing and play with you.
And – quick housekeeping announcement – During these unprecedented times, Valerie and I are recording new episodes on Wednesdays 10a Central on Instagram live. You can find it in my stories for 24 hours at @singalongpodcast. We’re also putting the video on our new YouTube channel – so find us there or on YouTube Kids!
Now, if you or your adult would like to see the lyrics to the songs in this episode, I’ll leave a link in the show notes. If you don’t know a song yet, don’t worry! Just listen and sing along when you can. Are you ready? Let’s sing!
First, let’s pretend to lace up our hiking boots and tie them tight!
Now put on your back pack – you can pretend if you don’t have one near!
Come Follow
Come, follow, follow, follow,
Follow, follow, follow me.
Part II:
Whither shall I follow, follow, follow,
Whither shall I follow, follow thee.
Part III:
To the greenwood, to the greenwood,
To the greenwood, greenwood tree.
Upward Trail
We’re on the upward trail, We’re on the upward trail,
Singing singing, everybody singing as we go.
We’re on the upward trail, We’re on the upward trail,
Singing singing, everybody singing homeward bound.

bear went over the mountain
The bear went over the mountain; The bear went over the mountain
The bear went over the mountain, to see what he could see.
To see what he could see, to see what he could see.
And the other side of the mountain,
The other side of the mountain
The other side of the mountain, was all that he could see.
The bear went over the river; the bear went over the river
The bear went over the river, to see what he could see.
To see what he could see, to see what he could see.
And the other side of the river, the other side of the river
The other side of the river, was all that he could see.

knapsack on my back
I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.
Chorus:
Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,
Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back.
I love to wander by the stream
That dances in the sun,
So joyously it calls to me,
“Come! Join my happy song!”
I wave my hat to all I meet,
And they wave back to me,
And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
From ev’ry green wood tree.
High overhead, the skylarks wing,
They never rest at home
But just like me, they love to sing,
As o’er the world we roam.
Oh, may I go a-wandering
Until the day I die!
Oh, may I always laugh and sing,
Beneath the clear blue sky!
walking walking (frere Jacques)
Walking walking. Walking walking.
Hop hop hop. Hop hop hop.
Running running running. Running running running.
Now let’s stop. Now let’s stop. [Place both hands out in front of you, palms facing forward.]
Walking walking. Walking walking.
Hop hop hop. Hop hop hop.
Running running running. Running running running.
Now let’s stop. Now let’s stop.
Tiptoe tiptoe. Tiptoe tiptoe. [Walk on your toes.]
Jump jump jump. Jump jump jump.
Swimming swimming swimming. [Make a swimming motion.]
Now let’s sleep. Now let’s sleep. [Rest your head against your hands or lie down on the ground and pretend to sleep.]
Tiptoe tiptoe. Tiptoe tiptoe. [Walk on your toes.]
Jump jump jump. Jump jump jump.
Swimming swimming swimming. [Make a swimming motion.]
Now let’s sleep. Now let’s sleep. [Rest your head against your hands or lie down on the ground and pretend to sleep.]
Walking walking. Walking walking.

The ants go marching two by two,
The little one stops to tie his shoe
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three,
The little one stops to climb a tree
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah
