Hello hello hello

Today, we’re  going to imagine we’re on a vacation to the ocean! We’ll sing about sailors and pinch our hands like crabs and pretend to swim swim swim in the sea!

Greeting

Hi Friends! Welcome back to the Sing Along with Mandy Podcast. I’m Mandy, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I love to sing songs and play fun – and sometimes silly – games and I especially love to sing and play with you.

And – quick housekeeping announcement –  During these unprecedented times, Valerie and I are recording new episodes on Wednesdays 10a Central on Instagram live. You can find it in my stories for 24 hours at @singalongpodcast. We’re also putting the video on our new YouTube channel – so find us there or on YouTube Kids!

If you or your adult would like to see the lyrics to the songs in this episode, I’ll leave a link in the show notes.  If you don’t know a song yet, don’t worry! Just listen and sing along when you can. Are you ready? Let’s sing!

Going over the Sea

When I was one, I ate a bun

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard a sailorman’s ship

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

“Going over, going under,

Stand at attention

Like a soldier

With a 1, 2, 3!”

When I was two I buckled my shoe,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was three I banged my knee,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was four I shut the door,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was five I learned to drive*,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was six I picked up sticks,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was seven I went to heaven,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was eight I learned to skate,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was nine I climbed a vine,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

When I was ten I caught a hen,

Going over the sea.

I jumped aboard the sailorman’s ship,

And the sailorman said to me…

(Chorus)

A Sailor Went to Sea Sea Sea

A sailor went to sea, sea, sea,

To see what he could see, see, see.

But all that he could see, see, see

Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea.

We are going to the beach (tune of London Bridge)

We are going to the beach,

to the Beach, to the beach,

We are going to the beach,

in our bathing suits.

We will find there rocks and shells,

Rocks and shells, Rocks and Shells.

We will find there rocks and shells,

to gather by the water.

We will build a sand castle,

Sand castle, sand castle,

we will build a sand castle,

with bridges and a tower.

We will have a picnic too,

picnic too, picnic too,

We will have a picnic too,

With Sandwiches and oranges.

Home we head with Sunburned Cheeks,

Sunburned Cheeks, Sunburned Cheeks,

Home we head with sunburned Cheeks,

and treasures from our visit.

Sailing sailing

Sailing, sailing, over the bounding main;

For many a stormy wind shall blow, ere Jack comes home again!

Sailing, sailing, over the bounding main;

For many a stormy wind shall blow ere Jack comes home again.

If All the Seas Were One Sea

If all the seas were one sea,

What a great sea that would be!

And if all the trees were one tree,

What a great tree that would be!

And if all the axes were one axe,

What a great axe that would be!

And if all the men were one man,

What a great man he would be!

And if the great man took the great axe,

And cut down the great tree,

And let it fall into the great sea,

What a splish splash that would be!

Fish in the Sea (tune of Wheels on the bus)

The fish in the sea go swim, swim, swim

swim, swim, swim

swim, swim, swim

The fish in the sea go swim, swim, swim

All through the Day

The lobsters in the sea go pinch, pinch, pinch

pinch, pinch, pinch

pinch, pinch, pinch

The lobsters in the sea go pinch, pinch, pinch

All through the Day

The octopus in the sea go wiggle, wiggle, wiggle

wiggle, wiggle, wiggle

wiggle, wiggle, wiggle

The octopus in the sea go wiggle, wiggle, wiggle

All through the Day

The crabs in the sea go click, click, click

click, click, click

click, click, click

The crabs in the sea go click, click, click

All through the Day

Down by the Bay

Down by the bay,

Where the watermelons grow,

Back to my home,

I dare not go,

For if I do,

My mother will say:

“Did you ever see a moose kissing a goose?”

“Did you ever see a whale with a polka dot tail?”

“Did you ever see a fly wearing a tie?”

“Did you ever see a bear combing his hair?”

“Did you ever see a bee with a sunburned knee?”

“Did you ever see llamas eating their pajamas?”

“Did you ever see a dragon pulling a wagon?”

“Did you ever have time when you couldn’t make a rhyme?”
