Hello hello hello
Whooooo… Halloween is in the air! When I walk around my neighborhood I see spooky decorations like witches and spiders! I see skeletons and pumpkins carved into jack-o-lanterns. Do you have any Halloween decorations where you live?
Today’s show is all about Halloween! Are you ready? Let’s sing!
Greeting
Hi Friends! Welcome back to the Sing Along with Mandy Podcast. I’m Mandy, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I love to sing songs and play fun – and sometimes silly – games and I especially love to sing and play with you. We’re going to sing lots of lovely songs today.
If you like what you hear, would you take a video or picture or a screenshot and share it? Be sure to tag me in it so I can say hi! I’m at the @singalongpodcast on Instagram and Facebook and @PodcastSing on Twitter.
If you or your adult would like to see the lyrics to the songs in this episode, I’ll leave a link in the show notes. If you don’t know a song yet, don’t worry! Just listen and sing along when you can.
Our first song today is about witches that fly on broomsticks and cast spells and wear funny black pointy hats. Get your fingers ready and we’ll count 10 little witches!
10 little witches – tune of 5 little fingers
1 little 2 little 3 little witches
4 little 5 little 6 little witches
7 little 8 little 9 little witches
10 little witches here!
10 little 9 little 8 little witches
7 little 6 little five little witches
4 little 3 little 2 little witches
1 little witch is here!
This next song is to the same tune but it’s about three little witches flying over haystacks and ditches and up to the moon! You can pretend you’re flying on a broomstick while we sing this song.
Three Little Witches
One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over haystacks, fly over ditches.
One little, two little, three little witches.
Hey, ho! Halloween’s here!
One little, two little, three little witches.
Flew on their broomsticks, flew over ditches.
Slide down the moon and tore their britches.
Hey, ho Halloween’s here!
One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over haystacks, fly over ditches.
Fly over moonbeams without any hitches.
Hey, Ho, Halloween’s here!
One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over barb wire and tore their britches.
Had to go home and get some stitches.
Hey, Ho, Halloween’s here!
Besides witches, another thing I see when it’s Halloween are cobwebs and spiders! I know a few spider songs. Do you know Little Miss Muffet?
Little Miss Muffet
Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet,
eating her curds eating and whey
Along came a spider who sat down beside her
And frightened miss Muffet away
Itsy Bitsy spider
Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the water spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
Now that we’ve got our fingers moving…
Rhythm repeat
Let’s play our Rhythm Repeat game! First, let’s warm up our hands with a drumroll. Use you hands to slap your thighs! (drumroll)
Can you clap your hands? (clap) Can you snap your fingers? (snap) Can you slap your knees? (Slap) I call this next game Rhythm Repeat. It’s very easy.
I’m going to say some very silly words and then you repeat them. You can clap, snap and slap along too!
My turn, your turn, 8 rounds
Our next Halloween song today is about 5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate. Can you pretend that you see them?
5 little pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, “oh my it’s getting late.”
The second one said, “there are witches in the air.”
The third one said, “but we don’t care!”
The fourth one said, “let’s run and run and run.”
The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun!”
OOOhh OOOhh went the wind And out went the lights
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
I know another rhyme about pumpkins. It’s called
Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater
Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had a wife but couldn’t keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well.
Can you imagine living in a pumpkin shell house? That is so silly!
Our last song today is about skeletons. You can touch each of your body parts as we sing this song!
