There’s science behind it the connection between happiness and music – singing requires intentional breathing, breathing is relaxing. Singing with others builds relationship.
And, anecdotally, singing just makes me happy. I find myself singing to myself all the time – especially since starting this podcast project. I’m belting broadway numbers, I’m crooning with the crooners while I cook, I’m humming along to songs my kids randomly start up.
I feel like I’m remembering a part of myself that got a little forgotten in college. She came out a bit when I was recovering from the grief of miscarriages but then got buried under the stress of adjusting to motherhood.
I’m back, and I’m singing like the mom and aunt and friend I always imagined I’d grow up to be. I hope you’ll sing along with me. 💛
